 VYGOTSKY'S THEORY
Constructivism as a school of thought seeks the teacher is active in the teaching and the student develops naturally mental activities. Social constructivism emphasizes the interaction and cooperative learning works if there is no motivation for the exchange of information, self-learning and others. Learning a second language helps us better understand our mother tongue, and thus acquire new knowledge, skills, values and attitudes. A characteristic of constructivism is its integration of linguistic, psychological, and sociological paradigms. The ZPD is the gap between what the child and what you can learn through stimuli and partners, teachers and competent adults. Example. Role playing is important when it comes to learning a second language, because it allows the interaction among students, decreases shyness, there is active participation, cooperation and teamwork, learning is significant. (You can use this technique when teaching topics as greetings, meals, shopping).
