LANGUAGE
It is always interesting, before determining the meaning of a particular word, to carry out a little research to find the etymological origin of it. Specifically, if we do the same with the term in question we will find that this origin lies in the Provencal language and more specifically in the concept language. However, this in turn comes from the Latin term.
Once exposed this we have to determine that with the word language what we do is to refer to all that set of signs and sounds that has used the human being, from its creation to our days, to be able to communicate with other individuals of the same species To which he thus manifests both what he feels and what he thinks about a particular matter.
The concept of language can be understood as a resource that makes communication possible. In the case of humans, this tool is extremely developed and is much more advanced than in other animal species, since it is a process of physiological and psychic roots. Language, as many of you will know, gives man a chance to select, quote, coordinate, and combine concepts of varying complexity.
LEARNING
Learning is called the process of acquiring knowledge, skills, values and attitudes, made possible through study, teaching or experience. This process can be understood from different positions, which implies that there are different theories linked to the fact of learning. Behavioral psychology, for example, describes learning according to the changes that can be observed in the behavior of a subject.
Human learning is defined as the relatively invariable change in a person's behavior from the result of experience. This change is achieved after the establishment of an association between a stimulus and its corresponding response. The capacity is not exclusive to the human species, although in the human being the learning was constituted as a factor that surpasses the common skill of the most similar branches of evolution. Thanks to the development of learning, humans have managed to achieve a certain independence of their ecological environment and can even change it according to their needs
TEACHING
Teaching is the action and effect of teaching (instructing, indoctrinating, and teaching with rules or precepts). It is the system and method of giving instruction, formed by the set of knowledge, principles and ideas that are taught to someone.
Teaching involves the interaction of three elements: the teacher, teacher or teacher; the student or student; And the object of knowledge. The encyclopedist tradition assumes that the teacher is the source of knowledge and the student, a simple unlimited receiver of the same. Under this conception, the teaching process is the transmission of knowledge from the teacher to the student, through various means and techniques.
DEFINITIONS AND RESTATEMENT OF VIGOTSKY´S THEORY
Vigotsky considers learning as one of the fundamental mechanisms of development. In his opinion, the best teaching is that which is ahead of development. In the learning model it provides, the context occupies a central place. Social interaction becomes the motor of development. Vigotsky introduces the concept of 'zone of proximal development' which is the distance between the actual level of development and the level of potential development.
In order to determine this concept, two aspects must be borne in mind: the importance of the social context and the capacity for imitation. Learning and development are two processes that interact. School learning must be congruent with the child's level of development. Learning occurs more readily in collective situations. The interaction with parents facilitates learning. 'The only good teaching is that which is ahead of development'.
